We had an excellent time attending the Children in Scotland Annual Conference in Glasgow last week and thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many passionate and inspiring professionals from across the sector.
Our workshop, “Evolving Digital Landscapes: Supporting Children and Young People,” led by Ellen West and our Scottish Lead, Laura Benson, was a tremendous success. Focused on the role of emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—and the tri.x Online Procedures Manual, the session explored how digital tools can support practitioners in delivering safe, effective services for children and young people.
Grounded in the principles of The Promise, GIRFEC, and the National Practice Model, the workshop generated a great deal of interest, covering everything from navigating harmful online content to the hidden meanings behind emoji use among youth. We wrapped up with an interactive quiz to test knowledge and spark curiosity—thank you to everyone who joined us and got involved!
Due to the success of our workshop and the fantastic feedback that we received, we’re pleased to announce that we’ll be hosting our workshop as a webinar very soon. This will offer another opportunity to engage with the content, ask questions, and continue important conversations around digital safeguarding and practice.
Stay tuned for more details—we’re looking forward to reconnecting with many of you online!
