Review of Care Planning & NMS

The Care Planning and other key Regulations, Guidance and National Minimum Standards came into force in April 2011; some changes were published at very short notice (e.g. the National Minimum Standards for Adoption, Children's Homes and Fostering); individually, and as a whole, they were extremely complex.

As always, we acted in a timely fashion to ensure our customers policies and procedures were updated in line with the new/revised regulations, but it's always difficult to interpret how new/revised regulations and guidance should be implemented without the benefit of putting them into practice.

So, we are undertaking a review of all new or amended policies and procedures that we recommended to our customers as a result of 'Care Planning' and other changes that came into force in April - in consultation with customers who have had the opportunity to put them into practice.

This review will be complete early in the New Year.

If you're one of our customers, you can then expect to receive a Policy Briefing outlining any recommended amendments or changes, we will then consult you to agree timescales for incorporating the changes into your manual(s).
